課程概述

Movement analysis is the research of human joint movement, changes of joint force, pathological action, and muscular activation…etc. Utilizing the knowledge of biomechanics, to analyze the reason, process and products of human movement, to strengthen and elevate the performance of human movement, to diagnosis and treat the injuries caused by sports or improper movement, to stimulate or induce coordination of hand-eye-movement, and to prevent or protect from movement injuries. This course uses the bases of biomechanics, provide the students with advance kinematics, kinetics and capture and analysis of EMG signal, and apply to the movement analysis of clinical patients. 

課程目標
The course will introduce kinematics and kinetics from normal human subjects to apply the base knowledge and theories of biomechanics techniques, to utilize sport analysis from clinical patients, and collect, analyze, and interpret the methods of biomechanical information. The course contents are included to analyze the knowledge of mathematics and mechanics required for the musculoskeletal system, to explain the principle of biomechanics measurement, the methods required for biomechanical measurement, and biomechanics of neurological and skeletal muscular diseases. The course will focus on the analysis of gait, balance, posture, and muscular activity, and reverse kinetics calculation, joint angles, angular acceleration, torque and power and other biomechanical parameters, and introduce its clinical application and significance. 
課程要求
Evaluation and scoring methods:
1.Attendance and participation in the class (25%): Introduce the literature responsible for reading, participation in speaking and discussion, late arrival and early departure. (Aim to increase expertise)
2.Midterm oral presentation (25%): Focus on the research project of interest, arrange the recent review literature regarding the methods of movement analysis for 20 minutes oral presentation, the presenting day will be 2024/04/11. (Aim to increase science exploration and research)
Three to five recent articles in your interested patient populations (within 3-5 years).
3.Final oral presentation (25%) and written report (25%): Focus on the research project of interest, use movement analysis to collect experimental data, and use the reference collected in the midterm to analyze the data collected to write a case report. The final oral presentation is 20 minutes and the presenting day will be 2024/05/23. The written report format will follow Formosan Journal of Physical Therapy. The report will be 15 pages No. 12 wording A4 paper, English typing. Translate the responsible literature reading. The written report will be uploaded to NTUcool website, deadline will be 2024/05/30. (Aim to increase international view)
